Description The late Lt. Ned Mathias had many stories to tell, and he enjoyed telling them. Some of his stories were catalogued by the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette, as shown in this exhibit. His memories of life in the Patrol spanned the graduation of his Academy Training Class - the 31st - in 1951, to his retirement in 1981.

Included in his recollections are the 1974 Junction City Prison Farm uprising, where two women were taken hostage by prisoners, the increased paperwork as the years went by, and commanding the Lancaster Post.

Also in this exhibit is a photo of the base of a remarkable lamp made in honor of Lt. Mathias by his brother, Ron, last year.

Lt. Mathias passed away from cancer earlier this year.
