Two arrested for illegal drug conveyance and possession of cocaine, prescription drugs

COLUMBUS – Two Columbus residents appeared in the Fairfield County Common Pleas Court this morning after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested them for attempting to convey drugs into a prison and possession of cocaine and prescription drugs. The arrest took place after troopers obtained information that Michael G. Webster, 33, was conveying illegal drugs into the Pickaway Correctional Institution.

Troopers charged Webster, with attempted conveyance of illegal drugs onto the grounds of correctional facility, a third-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fourth-degree felony; and Allie Clark, 45, with possession of bulk prescription drugs, a third-degree felony.

Troopers arrested Webster and Clark at 10:00 a.m. Friday after Webster arranged to have the drugs conveyed from a restaurant parking lot.

At the time of the arrest, troopers discovered a plastic bag containing a white powder substance on Webster and medication without a prescription on Clark. A subsequent search warrant of their residence revealed additional criminal tools and drugs, including marijuana and prescription medication.

Webster and Clark were incarcerated at the Fairfield County Jail. If convicted, Webster could face up to six and one-half years in prison and a $15,000 fine and Clark could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The case remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state owned and leased property.
