Franklin Furnace woman arrested for illegal drug conveyance at Lebanon Correctional Institution

LEBANON – A Franklin Furnace woman is scheduled to appear in Lebanon Municipal Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested her yesterday for attempting to convey drugs into the Lebanon Correctional Institution.

Troopers charged Donna Lee Arthur, 56, with attempting to convey drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony, and possession of crack cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.

Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators obtained information that Arthur would be conveying drugs to a friend during a scheduled visit. When Arthur arrived for her visit, troopers initiated a search warrant and she surrendered three balloons containing approximately four grams of suspected crack cocaine and three grams of suspected powder cocaine.

Arthur was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state-owned and leased property.
