COLUMBUS – On November 29, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s 147th cadet class began their training toward becoming troopers at the Patrol’s Training Academy in Columbus.
The 34 cadets will complete 29 weeks of rigorous law enforcement instruction related to crash and crime scene investigation, judicial procedures, driving skills, firearms, and self-defense.
Cadets are instilled with the Patrol’s nine Core Values; honesty, sense of urgency, attention to detail, team oriented, professionalism, adaptability, self-discipline, performance driven, and officer safety; which are the foundation for a trooper’s career as a public servant.
