LEBANON – An Akron woman is scheduled to appear in Lebanon Municipal Court today after troopers arrested her yesterday for conveying drugs into the Warren Correctional Institution.
Troopers charged Rachel L. Cyrus, 31, with conveying drugs onto the grounds
of a detention facility, a third-degree felony and possession of drugs,
a fourth-degree felony.
Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators
obtained information that Cyrus would be conveying drugs to her boyfriend
during a scheduled visit. When Cyrus arrived for her visit with her boyfriend,
a search warrant was executed. During the search, approximately 18 grams
of marijuana and approximately 2 grams of crack cocaine were found in
her vehicle.
Cyrus was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail. If convicted, she could
face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state-owned
and leased property.
