COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal airplane crash that occurred at approximately at 7:09 p.m. in Bucyrus. The single-engine plane crashed into a field southwest of the Indian Creek apartment complex, 1779 Whetstone Road. Debris from the crash caused minor damage to the complex.
There were no reported injuries on the ground.

A media staging area has been set-up across the street at the Kettle Run apartment complex. A press briefing has been scheduled there for 10:30 p.m. tonight. All media questions should be directed to the press briefing.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will be at the crash site Monday.

The Patrol’s investigation is on-going.
