CALDWELL – A Cincinnati woman appeared in Noble County Court yesterday on a felony charge after troopers arrested her for conveying narcotics into the Noble Correctional Institution.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers charged Jessica Ferguson, 30, with two counts of illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, both third-degree felonies.
Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators along with state troopers gathered information and determined Ferguson was planning to conveying drugs into Noble Correctional Institution. Investigators obtained a search warrant and confronted Ferguson as she entered the facility. Subsequently, investigators found three balloons containing marijuana and cocaine on her person.
If convicted, she could face 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state owned and leased property.
