TOLEDO – A Toledo woman appeared in Toledo Municipal Court Monday after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested her last Friday for attempting to convey drugs into the Toledo Correctional Institution.
Troopers charged Tireta S. Bowen, 39, of Toledo, with possession of heroin, a first-degree felony and attempting to convey drugs, a third-degree felony.
Troopers and investigators from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction obtained information that Bowen was working to convey drugs into the Toledo Correctional Institution. She was apprehended by troopers and arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Bowen was incarcerated in the Lucas County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to fifteen years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
