Troopers seize weapon and Ecstasy capsules in Preble County
EATON – A Texas man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 499 Ecstasy capsules, valued at more than $8,300, and a .40 caliber handgun following a traffic stop on Interstate 70.
Troopers stopped a 2012 Chevrolet Impala for a following too close violation on Interstate 70, near milepost 9, at 4:02 p.m. on April 20. The driver was found to be under driving suspension and criminal indicators were observed A Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search revealed the Ecstasy capsules and handgun in the trunk of the vehicle.
The passenger, Alexius Lacour, 28, of Dallas, TX, was charged with possession of Ecstasy, a second-degree felony. Other charges may be pending.
The suspect was incarcerated in the Preble County Jail. If convicted, he could each face up to 8 years in prison and up to a $15,000 fine.
