Troopers seize crack cocaine from Columbus Woman

PORTSMOUTH – A Columbus woman is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized half a pound of crack cocaine, worth approximately $19,000, following a traffic stop in Scioto County.

Troopers stopped a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, with Pennsylvania registration, for several moving violations, on U.S. Route 23, near milepost 7 in Scioto County, at 3:37 p.m. on January 9. During interaction with the driver, troopers observed suspected crack cocaine in plain view. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the half a pound of crack-cocaine.

The driver, Lealoni Miller, 25, of Columbus, Ohio, was incarcerated in the Scioto County jail, and charged with possession and trafficking in crack cocaine, both first-degree felonies.

If convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.

A photo of the seized contraband is available for download on the Patrol’s website at www.statepatrol.ohio.gov
