6-State Trooper Project leads to 651 OVI arrests

6-State

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol joined forces with members of the 6-State Trooper Project for a high-visibility enforcement effort focused on impaired driving from December 5 – 7, resulting in 651 OVI arrests. OSHP made 284 of those arrests.

The multi-state initiative included members of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police.

“The Patrol is committed to removing impaired drivers from our roadways,” said Colonel Paul A. Pride. “We are thankful for this multi-state partnership that contributes not only to a safer Ohio, but a safer nation.”

This multi-state law enforcement partnership is aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
