Ohio State Highway Patrol seeking assistance in fatal hit skip crash

Suspect vehicle is dark green sedan with front end damage

WARREN – Troopers from the Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-skip crash that occurred on July 30, 2016, at approximately 9:40 p.m. The pedestrian was attempting to cross US Route 422 at Rogers Avenue in the City of Warren. While crossing the street, an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on US 422 and struck the pedestrian. After striking the pedestrian, the car fled the scene traveling eastbound.

Witnesses and evidence gathered indicate that the vehicle is a dark green early- to mid-’90s Toyota sedan. The vehicle should have front end damage, with damage to one or both headlights. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. They can be contacted 24 hours a day at (330) 898-2311.

The pedestrian was identified as Paul Rose, 61 years old, of Warren, Ohio. Mr. Rose was transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital by Warren City Fire Department. Later, he was flown to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Warren City Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation.
