Stolen Military Humvee Recovered

(STOW, OHIO) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol has recovered a military Humvee stolen from the Ohio National Guard Armory located in Stow, Ohio.

The Patrol responded to the Armory, 4630 Allen Road, on March 22, at 3:30 p.m. Troopers discovered the suspect(s) cut through a chain link fence and made entry into a secured area where the Humvee was stored. The Humvee was locked at the time of the theft, but the suspect(s) disabled the locking mechanism and drove the vehicle off the premises.

At the time of the theft there were no witnesses or information available. The stolen Humvee was publicized by news outlets, social media and bulletins asking for public assistance. Ultimately, tips received by the Ohio State Highway Patrol led to credible information.

Late yesterday, a search warrant was filed and executed at a vacant residence in Trumbull County. The Humvee was located in the garage during the search.

The Patrol would like to thank the public, news media organizations and our law enforcement partners who assisted in locating the stolen Humvee. The investigation into the theft continues and more information will be released as it becomes available.
